Volker Awareness

　He likes to paint portraits.

　He loves people and attempts to represent their details.

　He admires God’s working creation.

　The paintings depict nature and animals etc. which represent the beauty of our world.

　He uses abstract drawings and paints expressions that give presence

　and explosive impressions by creating new forms and templates and painting unique pieces.

About the paintings in this exhibition

　All drawings for sale were made in Japanese prisons.

　The work was created entirely on JP paper, using pencil, pen or coloured pencil,

　while still living in a small, defined space for nearly ８ years.

　His brain, sensibility and expression jumped out of the small box,

　flapped freely and drew on A4 paper, and we, who see the world drawn on A4 paper,

　also have our innermost senses shaken and are entertained by a new world of imagination

　that has been dormant inside each of us. I think it is a work of art.
